Bhubaneswar: Intensifying its marketing campaign in aid of women’s reservation in the Parliament and the state assemblies, the ruling Biju Janata Dal on Wednesday made a decision to seek advice from 22 political get-togethers, which includes the Congress and the BJP for clean passing of a monthly bill in this regard.

At a assembly here, the BJD headed by chief minister Naveen Patnaik fixed that its delegates would satisfy leaders of seven nationwide functions and 15 regional functions and encourage them in favour of the women’s reservation bill pending acceptance of the Lok Sabha, celebration leaders stated.

The enhancement arrived a working day right after Patnaik wrote to Primary Minister Narendra Modi to guarantee passing of the bill to reserve 33 per cent of seats for ladies in the Parliament and point out assemblies.

The BJD vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra said BJD representatives will satisfy leaders of national events – the Congress, the BJP, the Trinamool Congress, the Bahujan Samaj Party, the CPI, the CPI(M) and the NCP.
They will also fulfill the leaders of 15 regional get-togethers – the AAP, the AIDMK, the DMK, the INLD, the JD(S), the JD(U), the National Conference, the PDP, the JMM, the RJD, the Unfortunate, the Shiv Sena, the SP, the TDP and the TRS, Mishra claimed.

The Odisha Assembly on November 20 passed a resolution for creating provision of 33 per cent reservation for women in the Legislative Assemblies and Parliament.
